PPP – The Degree Show
As I have previously expressed networking is the most useful way of making new contacts, potential business parters, and a way of getting into the industry. At the degree shows I plan to speak to professionals, get them to look at my film and hopefully talk to them about the processes, how they started out in the industry and what they think the best way of getting in is. London and Birmingham will be particularly important when networking as these are the prime locations for production companies and organisations, and so to be prepared will be carrying a little book with me to get contact details, should the opportunity arise.
I will also be handing out business cards which have both my producer and I’s email and a QR code to the Instability website, along side this I will be handing out the flyers we have made which give a bit of background about the film and shows who has worked on it, making it easy to recognise and approach those people.
I have decided with my producer that we should only give out catalogues to those who seem deeply interested about the film and approach us to talk about it. All these materials will give us talking points and a chance to get into general conversation with these professionals. The main aim is to get noticed and be memorable making sure that when they leave they remember my name, face and film.
