We have been working and reworking the trailer making sure it works and that it gives away just enough but not too much.
We have shown a previous version of this in one of our crit sessions and it received really good feedback especially about the build up and the intrigue that the images give off.
I particularly like the build up of images and I don’t think they in anyway take away from what is being said which is perfect. With the trailer we didn’t want to give away too much of the story but just enough to capture the attention of the audience to draw them in and be intrigued by the story behind the trailer. The track that is laid underneath the film is also laid under the trailer and carries it in a beautifully chilling way. We have now added the website link to the end of the trailer so that people who watch it can go online and find out more about it. The website has already started picking up hits and it has only been live for two days which means that the trailer is working and directing people in the right place to build their intrigue of the film.
My producer, editor and I are happy with the trailer despite having to stick to the 1 minute rule which we feel is too long but are keen to now get it out there, and are in talks with getting it played out in the Ellen Terry Building foyer for all to see.
Here’s the official trailer:
